The backcountry Belt

The Backcountry Belt is crafted from premium 10–12 oz Oiled Latigo leather from Wickett & Craig, a historic American tannery known for producing some of the finest vegetable-tanned leathers in North America.

This Oiled Latigo leather is hot-dipped in a special blend of oils, waxes, and tallows, deeply conditioning the hide for exceptional durability and resistance to the elements. Reinforced for rugged use, the leather maintains a rich, natural character, and lighter colors display a strong pull-up that highlights the movement of oils within the leather.

Available in both a firmer and softer temper, this leather carries a high concentration of oils, giving it its distinctive feel and resilience. Because of this, some natural oil migration may occur over time, which is a normal characteristic of heavily oiled leather.

Each belt is cut from a single piece of full-grain leather—no layers, no fillers—so the strength comes directly from the leather itself.

Measuring 1.5 inches wide, it’s a classic width that fits most pant loops while providing the solid feel of a dependable outdoor belt.

The design features clean, unstitched edges, keeping the construction simple and rugged while letting the character of the leather stand on its own.

The belt is finished with matte nickel-plated solid brass hardware secured with matching Chicago screws, allowing you to easily change or replace the buckle if you ever want a different style.
